About the guide

Mr. Daniele Lucchini, the duly licensed tour guide working as The Mantova Guide, holds a university degree in literature; he is also a linguist and a scholar of history and art.

He has written and edited several books related to history and literature. With specific reference to Mantua and Sabbioneta, he has published in the Finisterrae series the following volumes:
- Una noia splendida. Dizionario letterario di Mantova, 2005;
- Ascesa e declino di una capitale. Storia di Mantova nelle pagine di chi ne ha scritto, 2008;
- Relazioni degli ambasciatori veneti da Mantova, 2010;
- 🇬🇧 Rise and fall of a capital. The history of Mantua in the words of them who wrote about it, 2013;
- Il duca e la città. Appunti dal II convegno internazionale di studi su Vespasiano Gonzaga, 2013;
- Nel soldo di Roma. Monete romane del museo Francesco Gonzaga di Mantova, 2016;
- Carteggio tra Giulio Romano e Federico II Gonzaga, 2017.

He has prepared the permanent set-up of the XV century Barbara of Brandenburg's missal and of the ancient Roman coins collection at the Francesco Gonzaga Museum in Mantua; still, he has arranged a few exhibitions of contemporary painting in the town centre.

He has also written some tiny software to deal with cultural heritage.
